Recently, my wife and I assisted her elderly mother in moving into a condominium, after living in a house for thirty-seven years. Buying our own house thirty-nine years ago, we had no contemporary real estate experience and felt somewhat "at sea."
It was fortunate for us that the first real estate agent that we contacted was Michael McMullen. Initially we were extremely cautious in our dealings as we had a deep distrust of any real estate agent, but after our first property viewing, we felt that Mr. McMullen had "possibilities!"
In the spring we examined one place after another, then, being apprehensive, called off the search.
By the fall, we decided to try again and once more called on Michael McMullen. Willingly and cheerfully he again showed us places, although by now, we had a much clearer idea of what my mother-in-law wanted. We soon found a good prospect, then proceeded to research the maintenance history of the building. Satisfied, an offer was put on the suite, and a counter offer finally accepted. We thought we were home free.
Unfortunately, through errors of omission by our family, that had nothing to do with Mr. McMullen, a crisis developed at the last minute in the sale of the house. Although Mr. McMullen was the representative for us as the buyer of the condo, and had absolutely nothing to do with the sale of my mother-in-law's house, he freely gave of his time, expertise, and professional connections to solve a problem that we had foolishly allowed ourselves to get into. We were, and still are very grateful to him for his assistance "above and beyond the call of duty." Mr. McMullen was sensitive to our needs, always quick to respond with requested information, and never, never exerted any pressure on us to purchase a particular property.
Possibly the greatest accolade given to Michael McMullen was my wife who, after our first meeting, succinctly, and to the point, observed, "I like him; he's not 'slimy'."
The next time we initiate real estate transactions, Michael McMullen will be the first person that we contact.

Just a note to thank RE/MAX Ports West for all their help in getting us into our new house. We just love it and the neighbourhood. We feel so lucky to be here in Victoria.
I would especially like to pass on our thanks to Michael McMullen. Not only is he a gentleman but a real professional in every sense of the word. His patience and understanding in assessing our needs and then helping us to find just the right spot was an exceptional service. The cap to his many kindnesses came on the night of our arrival, when he showed up with the key and next morning's breakfast. My father's highest accolade for his fellow man was that so and so was a "good guy". And Mike is a Good Guy indeed.
I look forward to recommending both your office and Michael in particular, to anyone I know looking for a home in Victoria.

I feel a duty to let you know how impressed I have been with my recent dealings with Mike McMullen. After eight years as a licenced Realtor myself, I have personally worked with literally hundreds of agents. Mike exemplifes a standard of professional conduct that places him clearly above the crowd.
Mike listed and sold our townhome recently, a process which took only a few weeks despite slow market conditions and an abundance of competition. My wife Karen and I were especially impressed with Mike's honest, helpful advice, courteous manner and diligent followup. Michael made our search a very pleasant experience. He helped us with addresses so that we could drive by and eliminate any houses which didn't meet our criteria. Michael has a terrific sense of humour and made this whole experience one of fun rather than stress.
